Hans Reimann, Vice President

Hans is a life-long resident of Bucks County.  He grew up with Delaware Valley College, farms and the forest out his back door.  He attended Lock Haven University as an environmental biology major from 1971-1974.  He has been a 20 year resident of Springfield Township living on Kohlberg Hill (Laughing Springs).  As a former member of of the Springfield Township Open Space Committee, he helped promote a successful Open Space funding referendum, which led to the preservation of hundred of acres.  As a former board member of the Springfield Authority, he authored Springtown's Source Water Protection Grant currently being used to develop protection standards for Springtown's water supply by Springfield Township Environmental Council of which Hans currently is a member.

Hans is a Habitat Steward for the National Wildlife Federation, promoting backyard wildlife habitats.  He is currently working with Lower Saucon Township on a native landscape park at the municipal building using some of the native plants from his property.  He is actively involved in eliminating invasive plant communities from his own and other properties in the Cook's Creek Watershed.  He also contributed a clause which mandates an invasive plant management plan to Springfield Township's new Comprehensive Planning Document.

Margaret McDonald, Treasurer

Margaret has lived in Springfield Township since 1994. She is a Certified Public Accountant working as a Controller for Powdersize, Inc. in Quakertown. Margaret is also an adjunct instructor in accounting at Lehigh Carbon Community College and DeSales University.

Lois Oleksa, Secretary

Lois is a homemaker and owner of Gill O’er the Ground (a provider of high quality, organically-grown produce, serving upscale customers). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology (specializing in the field of Botany) from Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA. She has been a member of the Board of the Cooks Creek Watershed Association for over 25 years and has also been trained and performs water testing for the Delaware River Keeper. She has been active in the Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education and served as President of its local affiliate, GEP (Gifted Education in Palisades). She currently resides with her husband, David, and her three children, Adam, Sara, and Karyn in Durham, PA.

Her interest in the Watershed began soon after moving to Durham.  The family property borders Cooks Creek, about a mile from its mouth.  When a spring flood threatened to destroy the bank of the stream and began to divert the water in a new direction, the family began to repair the banks without the use of large equipment, a "natural" correction for the problem, which would have damaged the rare flora.  The Watershed Association members volunteered to assist and a bond was forged with the organization.

Lois operates a small business from her property selling fresh flowers (bouquets) for special occasions and casual decoration from a road-side stand.

Sherry Albre Brodhead, Membership Coordinator

Sherry has been a resident of Springfield Township for 26 years
where she resides by the banks of Cooks Creek. She has a long history of, and passion for gardening and ecological balance. She has been employed as a horticultural and floral designer, retail greenhouse manager, garden center manager for annuals and perennials and she particularly enjoys container gardening for the creativity involved. Sherry is very satisfied to see the Cooks Creek watershed community coming together for local events such as the roadside cleanup, and the annual Harvest Dinner. It is her hope that these events will expand to involve increasingly greater members of the community for the good of the environment.
